Iron Ore - Steel Industry

We have a strong track record in supplying iron ore to the steel industry.

Brazil

From 1995, until it was taken over by CVRD in 2001, we acted as agent for Ferteco Mineraçao for customers in the UK, USA, France and Egypt. In this period we were successful in developing long-term markets in all these territories, and in a three-year period, shipped more than 3.8 million tonnes.

Given the current monopoly of iron ore supply from Brazil, we are now working with certain independent mines to bring their products to the international market, and in 2004, we commenced imports to China.

India

We have supplied over two million tonnes of Indian iron ore to Usinor (now Arcelor) of France since 1991, and have extensive supply options both from Goa and East Coast exporters.

Chile

As well as our substantial sales to the pipecoating industry, we have supplied over 1,000,000mt iron ore pellets to China.

Today we are involved in the supply of ore from Brazil to China and the marketing of new products from Scandanavia and elsewhere and welcome the opportunity to work with new iron ore projects.
